Free Knitted Ring Pattern

      Sweet On You Ring Pattern

A very pithy pattern for a cute little ring  knit in the round in fingering weight yarn on DPNs (double pointed needles). A chunky funky ring perfect for sharing or treating yourself to a little knitted love. Being knit in the round, colorwork can easily be used instead of beads for the “X O” pattern. Or omit the beads altogether.

The beads I used had an opening smaller than I could manage a steel crochet hook & fingering weight yarn though so I wet joined a short length of lace weight yarn to the yarn for the ring. I then used the steel crochet hook to put the beads on the lace yarn & slide them down onto the fingering weight yarn. You will need 9 beads for this ring.

With beads already slid onto fingering weight yarn and US 0 needles, CO 14, join to knit in the round.
Round 1: P1, K 6, P1, K6 for 8 rounds.
Begin beading or colorwork as charted.
Repeat Round 1 for 8 rounds.

Though the ring does have some stretch, I recommend wrapping it around your finger before finishing off to check the fit. I have found this ring to fit most adult/teen hands, it’s just a matter of which finger it fits on each persons hand. For very slender fingers you may want to work a round or two less on each side of the beading.

Cast off & seam ends together. To make the seam less bulky I seamed the outer edges of the tube (the edges that will be seen) every stitch and caught the inner side of the tube just a few times.
